In a series of interactive sessions with recognized experts in the
field, information and perspective of cosmetic microbiology will
be shared designed to provide you with useful and practical
information unavailable from any other single source. The
program will shed light on issues found in the microbiology lab
from unique technical issues to complex risk assessments.
Building on the recent PCPC Annual meeting's emphasis on GMP in
the cosmetics industry, practical applications will be discussed
through lecture and small group discussions.
The program will range from presentations on technical and
compliance-related problems to interactive case studies to
round-table discussions. Participants will have the opportunity
to interact with representatives from FDA, USP and the Personal
Care Products Council (the Council) as well as international
experts in cosmetic microbiological quality.
This
conference will be moderated by Phil Geis. His career
in microbiology began in the clinical lab, moving commercial
media production and in 1981 to The Procter & Gamble Company
(P&G). Through over two decades at P&G, Phil has managed
preservative and disinfectant development and qualification, the
study of household and skin microbial ecologies and
manufacturing micro quality. He has also carried
responsibilities for environmental and regulatory affairs and
formulation chemistry for which he is co-inventor for a number
of domestic and international patents.
